I Am Woman
Tell us about Yourself
I'm the founder of Stronger Than My Struggles, a mission based business in Baltimore, MD that works with women and survivors worldwide. I am a 7x published author, advocate and life transition coach who prides herself on helping other find and share their voice. In addition to hosting workshops and events, being a college lecturer and TIME magazine feature, I also am a branding and marking specialist.
When Life Gives You Lemons
How would you turn a negative situation into something positive?
That's all I know, hence the name of My business, Stronger Than My Struggles. Life has given me nothing but adversity since birth. Being physically, mentally, sexually and emotionally abused so severely that I'm legally emotionally disabled and unable to work a normal job or keep a normal schedule, I used all that negativity to start this business that helps others across the world turn their negatives into positives as well.
What and/or Who inspired you to follow your dream?
Watching so many others not achieve theirs drove me to follow my own more than anything. I've met so many people who think that their past dictate them. They miss out on the opportunity to live their best lives living by the labels others have placed on them.
Keeping Up With the Bosses
Tell us about Your Business
I am a writer and healer by nature and I've built a business around both. As a writer, I fall under the category of author, blogger, journalist and writing coach. As a healer, I am a life transition coach working specifically with women to help them overcome their pasts and adversity to create the lives and businesses of their dreams, I'm also an advocate for mental health awareness and sex workers rights. I've been featured in TIME Magazine and lobbied on Capitol Hill for these important causes.
What advice would you give to an upcoming Entrepreneur?
Pick a purpose not a business. When you're operating from purpose, your business blossoms in ways you can't imagine. Don't focus on making money, make an impact on those you seek to service and money will follow.
