I Am Woman
Tell us about Yourself

I am a full-time outside the home employee of a non-profit organization. I have a degree in Psychology from the University of Houston. I've worked in non-profit, governmental sectors and in the medical field. I am married and have two children. I also write a blog called Momma of Dos since 2008 and helped establish and run a local organization called Houston Latina Bloggers. I was born in Brenham and raised in the Rio Grande Valley (RGV) and have lived in Houston for the last 20 years.

When Life Gives You Lemons
How would you turn a negative situation into something positive?

First I would cry, and allow myself that sadness or feeling of failure, but I would not give up. I would try to remain positive and push forward. It's happened to me many times. The setbacks and disappointments seem so big now but trust me, you can overcome. You simply resolve to move forward despite the bad situation or ill feelings. If you still have life in you, you can make it through!

Making HERStory
What and/or Who inspired you to follow your dream?

As cliché as this may sound, my Mom. She is a hardworking Mexican woman. She came to this country to find success for her children and she has done just that. With all her hard work and sacrifices as her daughter, I have tried to always do more than she thought I could do and accomplish all that she wants me to accomplish. Because of her I am who I am. Because of her, I strive for MORE.

Keeping Up With the Bosses
Tell us about Your Business
I am in the business of connecting women to one another and to their audiences or brands. I love meeting new ladies in our industry and learning about them to help them get to the next level of whatever it is they want to do. Through Houston Latina Bloggers I have been able to do just that! They also help me be accountable and continue to do my very best to succeed as well.

Empowering Bosses
What advice would you give to an upcoming Entrepreneur?
Do it because you love it not because it will gain something from it. Yes, the rewards are great and even money is the cherry on top, but your passion for what you do is what will get you through it all.

TogetHER WE WIN
What's your definition of Women Empowerment?
Truly supporting one another and lifting each other up, no matter what! Knowing that there is room for all of us to grow and learn!
Seeds of Sisterhood
What's your ingredients to a long-lasting sisterhood?

Genuine love and support. Always being there for one another, when we are starting off, and while we are growing and more importantly to cheer one another on!

Ready. Set. Goal
What is your Goal in life?
To continue to help people. To continuously grow. And, to be happy with who I am and where I am at every stage of my life.

Keep Encouraging Yourself
What advice can you give yourself?

Advice to myself? Don't give up. Keep going. Rest but never give up!
