When Life Gives You Lemons
How would you turn a negative situation into something positive?
When Life Gives Me Lemons, I slow down and look at the situation objectively. I have an almost out of body experience if I weren’t in the middle of this negative situation how would I handle it, what am I expected to learn from this, and if possible, how can I not have this show up again for me. The best example is when I take a wrong turn and I end up at the wrong location. I make it my business to meet 3 new people, add them to my list of followers and invite them to one of my workshops or to visit my website.
What and/or Who inspired you to follow your dream?
My inspiration comes from my own life, while I was living an amazing life filled with material possessions and lots of travel I was unfulfilled. My life was selfishly all about me. No real substance. I started to think about my legacy, I took a course at work by Stephen Covey and was introduced to the book Habits of Highly Successful People. One of the paradigm shifts was to “Begin with the End in mind”, what would people say at my funeral? I wanted them to say great things, how much I helped others, how my life was totally about service was all I kept thinking. The opposite of what I was living and that’s when I came up with Be You In HD. Many of us are living these unfulfilled lives because we are busy trying to fit in and be like everyone else. I was determined to become the elephant in the room and start talking about real issues, give a voice to the voiceless and begin to change the narrative of people just like me.

TogetHER WE WIN
What's your definition of Women Empowerment?
Women Empowerment is about cheering on another woman, supporting her cause and sharing information. A lot of us would be further ahead in our businesses if we looked at each other as allies rather than competition. When you’re a winner it’s natural to find more winners around you. They’re not there to steal your thunder, they’re there to force you to level up!
Seeds of Sisterhood
What's your ingredients to a long-lasting sisterhood?
My ingredients to a long-lasting sisterhood? I’m growing in this season right now, the first is honesty. It’s being honesty when it’s easy but more so about being honest about the tough stuff. I surround myself with women who are not afraid to tell me if one of my ideas stink. If I’m surrounded by people who always say yes to my ideas, I won’t grow. Seeds of sisterhood are about nurturing the people you meet along the way. You never know when they’ll sprout up or vice versa. The best example is I went to a woman’s lunch in and made different connections but I immediately connected with one woman and we stayed in touch. I went to her book signing and we followed each other through social media and we would send supportive notes back and forth. 2 years later I started my company and I had the opportunity to bring her on my platform as a speaker. This has happened on many other occasions, where others have put me onto their platform. The moral of the story is to plant seeds and plant them often, water them nurture them, you never know when they’ll sprout up as an opportunity.
Ready. Set. Goal
What is your Goal in life?
My ultimate goal is to have enough wisdom and financial freedom that I’m able to help as many people as possible experience transformation, own their identities and begin to live the life of their dreams.
Keep Encouraging Yourself
What advice can you give yourself?
Stay the course, don’t change the goal be flexible with the path to get to the goal.
